Automobile Empowerment at the Somers Library
Saturday, July 27, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Would you like to learn more about your car and how to take better care of it? Here’s your chance! In this hands-on class, car repairman and mechanic Jason Dickman wants to help people be more prepared, safe and familiar with their cars. To do this, he will
Discuss each person’s interest in their car and what they hope to get out of the class
Give helpful car care guidelines and tips with time for Q & A
List useful car products
Show how to find and check for fuses
Show how to change a tire using a spare and the tools necessary to do it
Give a touch-up paint demonstration
The class will start out in the Program Room, then move outside to a driveway next to the library where Jason will demonstrate these points on a demo car parked there. Space is limited to 10 persons and registration is required. Please register on our online calendar at www.somerslibrary.org or call 914-232-5717.
Jason Dickman has worked in the automotive industry for over 25 years in various aspects of automobile restoration, dealership and as a private car collection mechanic. He is currently an adjunct professor at Westchester Community College for two automobile related classes. A new resident to Somers, Jason would like to give back to the community, and hopes this class will be a start.
Our programs are funded by the Friends of the Somers Library through your donations. Thanks for your support!
