POUGHKEEPSIE, NY- The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum’s (MHCM) popular fall event, “Halloween Spooktacular!” will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm, featuring not-so-scary fun. This year’s event spotlights interactive and hands-on Halloween activities for families with young children.
Museum exhibits will be “tricked out” for Halloween fun. Halloween Spooktacular will feature a Pumpkin Decorating Lab, Science Experiments, Black Light Art, a Slime Lab, Live Beetles, Carnival Games, and much more fun for families. The event will also include a Costume Fashion Show with prizes and Trick-or-Treating. The museum will supply trick-or-treat bags, and each child will decorate their own pumpkin to bring home. The 2018 Halloween Spooktacular is generously sponsored by Oasis Medi-Spa and Adams Fairacre Farms.
The museum recommends that you purchase tickets in advance, as this event will likely sell out. Ticket price includes museum admission and access to all Spooktacular activities. Tickets to Halloween Spooktacular are $13 per person ($9 per person for MHCM Members) and may be purchased in person or online at bit.ly/MHCMHalloweenSpooktacular2018. Free event parking is available at the Museum, with overflow parking at Waryas Park. If you cannot attend Spooktacular, please visit the museum during October to enjoy the festive Halloween decorations.
The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum is the ideal destination for families with young children. Recent awards include Hudson Valley Magazine’s “2017 Best Museum” and “2018 Best Birthday Parties,” Hudson Valley’s “2018 and 2017 Favorite Kid-Friendly Museum” and “#1 in the “2018 Top 20 Places to Take Kids in the Hudson Valley” by Kids Out And About. With exhibits that focus on early literacy, art, STEM, and the local community, the museum provides an educationally rich environment through which children have the opportunity to develop foundational skills, to engage in purposeful play, and to develop interpersonal connections.
The Museum is located in the heart of the historic waterfront in Poughkeepsie, nestled between two city parks, just steps away from the Poughkeepsie Metro-North Train Station and fabulous restaurants.
The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $9.00 per person. Children under 1 year are free. Visit mhcm.org or call (845) 471-0589 for more information.
