Hudson Chorale, Westchester’s largest chorus, will conclude its 7th season on June 2 at 8:00 pm and June 4 at 4:00 pm, 2017 with a concert program entitled Requiem, featuring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s beloved and timeless Requiem, along with a collection of pieces that illustrate the different ways in which composers of different musical styles, eras and cultures have used the universal language of music to express the vast range of emotions associated with death, loss and mourning, to include Henry Purcell’s masterful Funeral Music for Queen Mary, choral gems by Johannes Brahms, Antonio Lotti, and American-born William Schuman, as well as a selection of Negro Spirituals. Complete with outstanding professional soloists and a full orchestra, both performances will be at the St. John the Evangelist Church, 148 Hamilton Avenue, White Plains, NY.

The concert will feature the 70-voice Hudson Chorale and a full professional orchestra. This is the chorus’ second season under the baton of Ira Spaulding, the chorus’ Music Director/Conductor. Spaulding has a 38-year career in performing, conducting and teaching master classes in conducting and voice all over the world. He currently serves as Professor of Vocal and Choral Music at City College of New York. The chorus has assembled an outstanding professional ensemble of guest soloists and instrumentalists that will guarantee outstanding performances of this collection of choral works.

Handicap parking is available. Following the concert, the audience is invited to an informal reception to meet and chat with the conductor, soloists, orchestra and chorus members, a long-standing Hudson Chorale tradition.
